Turning on mono decoding

The mono decoding feature can process a one-channel program into five-speaker sound, directing the signals so that dialogue remains locked on-screen, while music and ambient effects fill the room. You experience a surround sensation, providing extra enjoyment when you watch older (that is, pre-stereo) movies. This feature can be used for mono TV shows and movies when you select TV, VCR, AUX or Tape.

To turn on mono decoding, follow these steps:

Turn the TV on and select the correct TV input

on the remote, press settings

press tune down to highlight "audio setup" and press enter to confirm

press tune down to highlight "mono decoding"

press seek forward to turn mono decoding on

Note: Mono Decoding turns off when the source is changed or the system is turned off.
